My maternal grandfather was born in Montescaglioso. He and his parents moved to Argentina, where he met my maternal grandmother from nearby Miglionico. My mother was born and lives in Argentina. I was born and grew up in Argentina. Now I live in Australia.

Some of the names and dates are: My maternal grandfather was Rocco MATERA, b. (born) 1892 in Montescaglioso. His parents were Giambattista MATERA, b.c. (born circa) 1859 in Montescaglioso and Maria Filomena DITARANTO, b.c. 1866 in Montescaglioso; who married in Montescaglioso in 1882 and moved to Argentina sometime between 1892 and 1908. In turn, Giambattista’s parents were Rocco MATERA, b.bef. (born before) 1845 (in Montescaglioso?) and Caterina VENEZIA, b.bef. 1845 (in Montescaglioso?).
